AUTHOR OF THE MONTH: RAe Sanders
"It's almost becoming a yearly tradition," said editor and publisher at Cozy Cat Press, Patricia Rockwell. "Our authors are a close-knit group and we like to band together to produce something really special at Christmas-time." The special event this year for the small, independent producer of "cozy" or light mysteries, is an anthology of 25 short stories from the pens of some of the company's 40 authors. The book entitled "Cozy Cat Shorts" is designed for Christmas giving as it provides an introduction to many different types of mysteries--and some "not mysteries."
"Two years ago, we all wrote one book as a group," say Rockwell, "and last year we compiled a cookbook inspired by our main characters. This year, our authors have really been given the freedom to create totally new characters or take their regular main series' characters in new directions. Our hope is that readers who buy this anthology will find one or more of our authors who really speak to them."
"Also," adds Rockwell, "as these are SHORT stories, you can read one in probably one sitting!"
The anthology includes Amy Beth Arkawy's "Rabbit, Rabbit, White Rabbit," Allen B. Boyer's "Apology for a Mysterey," Sally Carpenter's "The Puzzling Puppet Show Caper," C.F. Carter's "Dead as the Dickens," Linda Crowder's "Paws & Claws," Glen Ebisch' "The Return of Bigfoot," Bart J. Gilbertson's "The Leopold Test," Helen Grochmal's "Merridy's Happy Family,", Lorrie Holmgren's "The Locked Room," Bret Jones' "Modus Operandi," Mary Koppel's "Mr. Wednesday," Elizabeth Lanham's "The Hygienist," Owen Magruder's "The Man in Tan," Jane O'Brien's "Murder at Pepperberry Lake," Joyce Oroz' "Bored to Death," David Pauwel's "Cisco Maloney and the Case of the Missing Keys," Emma Pivato's "A Lesson for the Teacher," Joe and Pam Reese's "The Worst Sin," Megan Rivers' "Story Stones," Patricia Rockwell's "Walkers," Rita Gard Seedorf's "Hope Against Hope," Rae Sanders and Annie Irvin's "Idle Hands," Lane Stone's "Foreign Affairs," Margaret Verhoef's "Missing Digits," and Carmen Will's "And the Answer Is...'Murder'."
The book is available in print format for $19.99 on Amazon and in ebook format for $9.99 on Kindle.
